BMAQUA was born out of the desire to provide sound and proven advice to potential Fish Farmers and Aquaculture related ventures in general.
Bruce Atkinson (Director) has been in this industry for close to 30 years and has seen it all. He started fish farming in earthen ponds in the late eighties and has been an integral part of the industry since. He studied Aquatic Resource Management at UCQ but it is his practical hands on experience that makes the difference when advising clients on what equipment to buy and specific fish culture methods to pursue.
This practical experience ranges through the many sectors of the aquaculture industry. Bruce has been involved in pond farming and marketing of crustacea and finfish, management level in the abalone and crayfish holding and processing sector, hatchery breeding and larval research, to full recirc system design and construction of indoor educational and commercial fish production systems. He has also been at the forefront of Aquaponic research and has a tried and tested design for the “marriage” of fish to plant production.In his last role he was Sales Manager of one of Australia’s leading aquaculture supply companies.
Over the years he has established a network of manufacturers and suppliers of quality Aquaculture equipment and supplies.
He brings a wealth of experience to his role as director of BMAQUA.
Sam Atkinson Dip. Bus. Mgmt. (Sales / Marketing Mgr.) has over 12 years in sales and marketing in food industry backgrounded with a Business / Sports Management Diploma (SCU).
He has had an affinity with Aquaculture and water treatment from an early age having worked for several years on the family fish grow out operation in the Northern Rivers of NSW. Sam brings an enlightened approach to customer service striving for service excellence with a view to BMAQUA becoming a trusted business partner for the years ahead.
